A lot of those sound fine at first glance, but I'd personally pick just a few of them and see if they generate interest before overwhelming the vs-section.

Great Egret vs Buffy Fish Owl.
My reasoning: Dimensionally, the egret is much larger. However, its long neck is kind of a double-edged sword. It provides good range but it's also a vulnerable target for the owl's talons. But then again, its spear-like beak could make up for that.
I prefer the above ^, but I can also go with Buffy Fish Owl vs Greater Sage-grouse.

Okay, I guess it's time for me to address this. So, the one thing you should keep in mind when creating a ton of matchups is that we're not what we were ten years ago. We simply don't have Carnivora's numbers, influx of new members, and demand for AvA; there may have been a point in time when we did, but it's certainly not now. There are few active members on here, and those that remain don't post much in the AvA section anymore, mostly because we've largely lost interest in it. I could give some thoughts on matchups that actually kind of interest me, are clear mismatches, or need further info pointed out otherwise, but don't expect most of them to garner replies, let alone long, meaningful discussions. I don't say this merely because I'm a crotchety 23-year old with AvA burnout. I'm saying this to sort of help you too. You've created around 70 matchups in one night. And even if the content of the OPs isn't much, creating that many in one sitting has surely got to be a pain in the ass for you (which you seem to admit in the shoutbox). But it won't be worth much if most of those don't garner replies. |

Yes, I’ve noticed that the AvA section is pretty inactive. It also appears that most people left on here are several years older than me. I promise going forward to post more meaningful opinions in the threads I create to hopefully spark activity and encourage discussion/debate so that it’s worth the effort on my end. Finally, thank you for not giving me any disciplinary action for my posting spree yesterday. |
