Baseless Tyrannosaurus hype as if it's guaranteed to be the biggest theropod (it is NOT)

NOTE: I am not going to respond to any posts that will turn this into a copy of T rex vs Giganotosaurus, or any replies to this post for that matter. This is a thread for griping and that's precisely what's to be done.
One thing that really pisses me off? In any T rex vs carnosaur debate, some people act like it's absolutely mandatory to compare, say, the Giganotosaurus holotype with Scotty or Sue, cult follow Franoys' work as if it were the only possible interpretation, and insist upon trying to put Tyrannosaurus on a pedestal above all the other theropods. Yet, these same people absolutely flip out when I suggest comparing, say, Bucky, B-rex, or USNM 6183. WHY NOT THOSE SPECIMENS compared to 8% larger MUCPv-95, 13 meter Tyrannotitan, 13.6 meter Mapusaurus, and 9 tonne Carcharodontosaurus? Absolutely nothing wrong with doing so, if it's OK to compare what aren't necessarily the biggest carnosaurs to the biggest T rexes, act as though it's representing the whole matchup, cult follow one set of work, and try to place the former on a very unnecessary pedestal.
I honestly think, to counteract this, 2 things are needed in T rex vs carnosaur debates: -More liberal carnosaurian sizes; by that, I mean 13 meter Tyrannotitan, 13.6 meter Mapusaurus, 9 tonne Carcharodontosaurus, and 8% larger MUCPv-95 -More use of specimens in the size range of Bucky, B-rex, and USNM 6183
