Technically, they are. From a geographic point of view, of course the US were a country as long as they were not covered in water, however, there is also a political viewpoint. From the latter viewpoint, a country doesn't exist until it has a government and a constitution. Hence, you can create new countries. Therefore, you can call the descendants of the colonists and such Americans. By the same logic, there are also no Italians or French only Europeans because they are after all the same race (the Caucasian, I know that there are some differences in the European folks, but they mixed pretty often) and just separated by some drawn borders (which didn't even always exist, see Roman Empire). There are simply differences between biological and national names.

I was referring to the biological definition. But still, I prefer not to identify as "American" (even though I live in the US), simply because that term irks me when used technically incorrectly. I guess I could be considered American just because I live in North America, but I would rather not.

You want Americans? THESE are Americans!!!Apaches! Aztecas! Mayas! Incas! Where all they live. HERE, in AMERICA.... THIS is America!!!This... this is just ONE country, NOT the entire continent. Just something to think about: Those who can see, will understand.

I don't know the real situation in the US, but I think the reputation of Native Americans is way better in Europe than in "white America", however I can't really imagine why. Well, I like them, too.

Just something to think about: Those who can see, will understand. Anyway, "American" is just the more informal name for the citizens of the US. The more correct term is US-American (and I think there you can't have any ambiguity).

I also have an intense hatred towards modern day feminism. More and more men are becoming emasculated and it's destroying the family unit. I can go on and on on what feminism has done to Western countries, especially Canada...
I also keep seeing some of the stuff that these idiotic women post online. Ive seen something called, a man is a rape supporter if. In fact, I'm gonna make a topic about that.
