Tigress killed a huge Bull gaur


This tiger cub was very cautiously walking towards the kill made by its mother. It was around 6.30pm. This is a huge bull gaur killed by the tigress and the tigress was just behind the bush, behind the gaur...The back side of the Gaur was eaten up by this family of three cubs and the tigress. The other two cubs were on the right side behind dense bamboo plants, hence were hardly visible. This Gaur was actually blocking the whole road, the tigress pulled it behind the bush within a fraction of a second. One can experience the power of this magnificent species...Wanted to wait and watch for longer time, but had to leave as the timing of the park was not permitting us. Was a great experience. Tigress teaches her cubs how to kill an adult gaur





Here's the full description to this account:

The moment we reached at Pandharpauni 1, we saw Maya and one of the cubs swimming in the water then suddenly Maya came out of the water as she saw a Gaur (Indian Bison) on the other side of the waterhole. She eye-locked the target and started walking towards the Gaur … what a moment as one could really see the change in her body language while preparing for the hunt!..

She initially attacked from the back and tore the hamstring so that the Gaur could not move. Then she attacked on the Gaur’s shoulder and neck, one could notice that she actually wanted to train her cubs and hence, she did not kill the Gaur but instead allowed her cubs to attack & hunt.





After hamstringing and crippling the Gaur, the tigress watches her small cub get to work:

Doesn't seem all that impossible for a Tiger to bring down a bull Gaur. I've seen a video of a Spotted Hyena taking down a full-grown Cape Buffalo bull by itself. One bite to the testes, and the bull lost the will to fight.

Male lions do take Cape buffalos 1v1 but I've never seen them beat a prime bull specimens. Let alone a lioness doing so.

Tigers very frequently kill Bull gaurs. In fact, studies from tiger scientist/biologist, Karanth have shown that tigers killed a greater amount of Bull gaurs than adult female gaurs. The largest Bull gaurs are also killed by tigers, even by single tigresses. I already posted so many accounts on this thread, and there's way more coming.

Adult Bull gaur are a regular prey item for tigers.

By the way, I've seen that video of the Hyena biting the testicles of the Cape buffalo bull....that was some crazy shit! The Bull immediately collapsed to the ground and couldn't stand. Its sad.
