I'm not saying crocodiles aren't a threat don't get me wrong. I'm just saying they wouldn't waste too much time trying to chase a human around lol If it was a Human in the water. Then it would. Or if they're close to the water. The Crocodile would ambush and jump out grabbing the Human.

Who here would dare to engage a boat trip on a river frequented by Deinosuchus 75 MYA ?

I doubt a 5-8t giant crocodilian would show interest in humans, it would most likely go after bigger prey. However there were more moderate-sized, tough still huge, specimens and taxa of giant crocodyliforms, which I agree would be perfect human-eating-machines.

Not me, I could iamgine these archosaurs would be much more dangerous to people in a boat than to ones swimming or standing near the shoreline. Maybe Black Ice, from some of the stories I heard the Deinosuchus would flee from him (that just had to be, sorry for the spam...) But I personally wouldn't want to take a boat trip on a normal african river frequented by hippos either.

Saltwater Crocodiles do eat small things like Fish, and Crabs. So we would be like those to Deinosuchus or any other large prehistoric Crocodilian.

That's a good point. But they don't go after small terrestrial prey, do they?

No, I mean prey two orders of magnitude smaller. Do crocodilians attack animals 1/100 their own size on land?

The nile croc can prey on hand-sized fishes as well as zebra-sized preys. All is not related to the size, but to the level of opportunism and metabolism. Would you dare to approach a basking Deinosuchus ?
