I'm confident. JJ Abrams is a highly talented director, and it is not the first time a SW movie is not directed by Lucas. Despite that Lucas Arts now belongs to Disney, they're still in charge.
Also, the extended universe after Return of the Jedi exists since a while, so why not to continue the adventure ?

My initial idea was to make a few movies between the original trilogy and the prequels. There's a good 20 years between episode 3 and episode 4, so why not fill that time period up? They could at least get another 3 good movies out of Vader, Sidious, Yoda, Obi-wan, and a young Luke and Leia growing up.

That's an idea, but I guess they plan this as spin-offs and that they think the fans are more awaiting to see to following of episode VI.

Really, Starkiller? I always found him one-dimensional and boring.

I could say the same for palpatine and qui gon truth be told. I even found yoda quite predictable.

Well, at least they are legends and icons. Starkiller is just a Sith Lord wannabee. I would only accept a Galen Marek movie if Darth Malgus was the main villain, and killed that whiny nobody at the end. Unfortunately that wouldn't make sense as Malgus came about 3000 years before Starkiller.

And lets not forget how they died. Galen died after trashing darth vader twice then overwhelming the emperor in the initial fight only dying to allow the others to escape. Darth malgus dies from a force push

Side note, Galen did not overwhelm the Emperor, not at all. Sidious let Galen win that fight only to further drag him to the darkseid, as he played the same trick on Mace Windu. When Starkiller refused, Palpatine killed him easily. But... but... it was a strong force push. In all fairness, he did return, and came back much stronger than he was initially.

Galen killed himself after deflecting darth sideous lightning (a very impressive feat as he did it bare handed something yoda couldn't even do). And it was still a force push one of if not the most basic force moves...

Watch the light side ending, Palp tossed Galen away like a ragdoll when he refused to turn. Yeah yeah yeah, but that was way before he became the badass that I even named my (now dead) centipede after.

Galen wasn't expecting him to see that coming. He was caught by surprise. And malgus died? HOW? ?

Pff, the excuses. A Jedi should be ready at all times when he's facing a Sith. Few months back, March or so. Don't know how, but for a few days before his death he was surprisingly inactive, not moving around much. I thought he was just suffering from typical laziness, but then he just died.
