(from this viewpoint, one could plausibly refer to herbivores as parasites of plants). Now THAT sounds more like it! rock What do you think? i can agree with that

I find it very confusing to use terms in such a way. That's why I'd add the criterion that parasites must specifically go after the metabolism. A mushroom sucking the nutrients out of a tree's cytoplasm can be considered parasitic. An elephant plucking off trees not so much.

Yes herbivores techinally are predators ,also Some herbivores rarely include meat in their diets like deers eating rabbits and horses eating baby chicks

Yes herbivores techinally are predators ,also Some herbivores rarely include meat in their diets like deers eating rabbits and horses eating baby chicks i agree that some herbivores [like tree eating herbivores] are predators , herbivores are not hunter predators and very rarley as you mentioned include flesh in their diets if ever , most herbivores will not touch a spec of meat in their entire lives.
