I’d back the pliosaur due to its powerful jaws.

So would I. Also, because it's got a ton more baseless hype surrounding it.
I wonder what Max Hawthorne would comment with on this matchup? Would probably be reeking with pliosaur fanaticism, that's for sure.

"Baseless hype"? K. imperator is a fictional character (technically, a fictional species, but we only know one specimen). Its abilities are no more "baseless" than the attributes of your Rex-Wrecker, Dunkleosteus terrestrials, Science Carnotaurus or Chocolate Apatosaurus. Kronos Rising was never intended to be a documentary like WWD.
I think "Mary Sueness" is the word you're searching.

What are the capabilities of this Kronosaurus Imperator? How big it is? Does it need to surface to breathe? There is evidence of gigantism in macropredatory sharks to hold their own against massive pliosaurs in the Cretaceous: theworldofanimals.proboards.com/post/47569If the two are close in size, Megalodon have a fair shot at victory. Strengths of The MEG Megalodon are pointed in here: theworldofanimals.proboards.com/post/48549Megalodon was at the top of the food chain in highly competitive marine environments featuring numerous killer whale forms, macropredatory sharks, and gigantic crocodilians; it had to be a fighter. Megalodon-type physiology make sense as a fighter, not as an ambush animal. You cannot be gigantic and score kills with ambush in food-rich environments in each attempt. You need to be capable of actively chasing a prey item (if necessary); mortally wound a prey item with a single bite (if large); and capable of taking punishment if it come down to blows with a prey item or other macropredators during the hunting process. I do not think that Megalodon was a beauty like the Great white shark, rather menacing with tough skin much like The MEG Megalodon.

Well, far more capable than real-life pliosaur but none of that is extraordinary for THE MEG Megalodon.
Bullet-proof armor = MEH (The MEG Megalodon was tanking missiles)....
The MEG Megalodon laughs....

I will make a chart for this.

Keep in mind that one of the MEG Megalodon was enormous enough to destroy a freaking nuclear submarine. You understand how tough a nuclear submarine is? The massive female that surfaced was not one of the largest ones down there in hidden ocean.

Regardless of if the film poster gives us a good idea of its size, these feats are easily enough for a win.
Good that we didn't pit The MEG's Megalodon against the WWD Liopleurodon.

Yeah, that would've been a blatant one sided slaughterfest in the MEG's favor.
I am honestly really curious what Max Hawthorne would think of this matchup.
