I thought we were comparing the wallago to a giant snakehead

Err..yes, but this is also about their weapons. I was under the impression their teeth and jaws were similar to peacock bass

Yea, i wouldn't put the peacock bass in many matchups. It pretty much just swims around engulfing smaller prey. Not too many weapons

I don't think I would anymore - things like cichlids would be a lot better

Yea the dentition of a parachromis is much different than that of a cichla. A simple google search can show you that

Yeah, they have fairly large mouths full of nasty teeth. Would definitely be a better matchup than this one.
I think I'll probably make it tomorrow

Wallago have ferocious teeth and are extremely predatory. Comparing the weaponry of the Wallago to the Peacock bass is like comparing a cat to a pitbull. They do? I have no issue believing this, but I thought they only had small teeth and gulped small fishes Stick your hand in a Peacock bass' mouth and you may feel a rough surface that may scrape a bit if the bass is big. Stick your hand in the mouth of a Wallago and it'll look like ground beef. They DO gulp, but they also grab onto huge prey (Monitor lizards, large fish etc.) and occasionally devour them. The teeth are no joke.

Yep. You got me on that; Wallago is a much closer fight.
I think wallago vs snakehead may be sympatric in Asia.

That would indeed be a good fight.
Now that I think about it, didn't Jeremy Wade also photograph himself holding a wallago with gloves (apparently it was poisonous) in his book? That may be another one of its weapons

Wallago shouldn't be venmous the gloves were probably to protect against a bite or avoid damaging the fish's slime layer

Must've been something else. I remember him saying it had little muscle and was thin but touch it and you could die.
