Who would tire out first though? The Python certainly has less stamina than the Hyena on land.

Interesting conflict. I know a number of accounts where leopards have killed pythons and jaguars have been known to predate on even large anacondas. But the hyena, while perhaps more durable than the cats, lacks their agility and grappling ability, which may come in handy against the snake.
I'd vote for a large female hyena over a large rock python more often than not, but I'd be more inclined to favor a reticulated python over the hyena.

I found this account of an interaction in the book Photographing wildlife across the world by Cherry keaton no indication on the size of either animal, but it's noteworthy.

Python wins this more often than not, but at parity, hyena wins.

I favor the python. The hyena's canine-like build is going to spell its doom, as the python can easily disable the jaws with constricting.
