This isn't nearly as bad-looking, but this subadult male leopard seal was probably bitten by a juvenile great white shark. Image source->In case you're wondering, the seal's health deteriorated over the course of a few days, and was euthanized.

Interesting, I’ve heard of great whites attacking southern elephant seals, but not leopard seals.

Weight wise, how big do you think this seal was compared to this shark:

Difficult to say from how little we saw, but I would guess that there is a body mass ratio of about one order of magnitude (1:10, take or give) between them. The seal looked about half as long as the shark or less to me.
