This isn't nearly as bad-looking, but this subadult male leopard seal was probably bitten by a juvenile great white shark.  Image source->In case you're wondering, the seal's health deteriorated over the course of a few days, and was euthanized. |

Interesting, I’ve heard of great whites attacking southern elephant seals, but not leopard seals. |

Difficult to say from how little we saw, but I would guess that there is a body mass ratio of about one order of magnitude (1:10, take or give) between them. The seal looked about half as long as the shark or less to me.
