^ slaughter might be an exaggeration. I think the drom would win as well. But canine are massively underrated when pitted against grappling animal. Grappling animal? The raptor's hind claws represented its primary killing weapon... And a cats jaws are its primary weapon. Does that mean it can't grapple all of a sudden as well? Or a wolf can't kill one?

Or a wolf can't kill one? You said something along the lines of deinonychus being a "grappling animal", as in an animal that relies primarily of grappling to kill its prey.

Manipulation of any limb to control an animals movent is grappling. So yes deinonychus is a grappling animal. Just like a cat. I don't get why it's such a problem I said that?

I too favor the dromaeosaurid. It has more and at least equally effective weapons to the wolf (strong jaws vs. apparently strong jaws (based on tooth impressions on bone), hand claws, foot claws on second digits). Deinonychus wins probably around 55-60% of the time.

Raptor wins by a moderate margin.

Deinonychus is now 100 kg and would win over 2 or maybe even 3 wolves. This is a mismatch.
