T rex vs several extinct crocodilians Wait, so all the giant crocodiles got downsized? Not ALL of them. Rhamphosuchus is still about 12-13 meters, and a 2015 study suggests 8.4 tons for Purussaurus. I should have added a disclaimer in that post about lower size estimates for Purussaurus |

dinosauria101I think the skull comp. between Bistahieversor and Skorpiovenator is off. The 5cm scalebar in the latter image should be half the length of the 10cm scalebar in the former image. Just by using my fingers, the 5cm scalebar seems to be much more than half the length of the 10cm scalebar. Skorpiovenator was estimated at 6.2m long. Scaling down from Greg Paul's estimate of a 7.5m, 1.67t animal, we're looking at an animal <1t (although, perhaps this is a bit conservative, since this is Greg Paul we're talking about). It would have been a much smaller animal than Bistahieversor.

Oh, maybe it isn't to scale or scaledimproperly.
And is Skorpiovenator really that tiny? I thought it was 9 meters and 2-3 tons
