I’ve always had a strong liking (funny considering I’m not really knwledgeable about them at all) for those small Jurassic paravians from China, accordingly you see a Xiaotingia and a Jinfengopteryx in my signature (The latter can also be understood as a reference to my friend creature).
My avatar is a small Eurypterus-type eurypterid (I originally intended it to be a Tylopterella, but admittedly it’s mere speculation since I have no clue what it looks like exactly).

My Avatar is explained here: coherentsheaf.deviantart.com/art/Death-in-a-Golden-Sky-378595294My carnivora signature reads: "... grains are falling, haphazard, random, a disorganized stream of silicone that seems pregnant with the possibility of any conceivable shape. But this is illusion. Things have their shape in time, not space alone. Some marble blocks have statues within them, embedded in their future." It is a quote from the Watchmen comic series where a character perceives time as tenseless geometric object, which resembles my own view of time and by extension the universe.

My signature shows various forgotten prehistoric life and refers to the fact that theropods are overrated. My avatar is Kirito from Sword Art Online using one of his strongest moves. I liked that anime. Not overrated, more over-hyped.

I liked that anime. Not overrated, more over-hyped. Well yeah, but overrating and overhyping seemed somewhat synonymous to me. People seem to forget all other creatures of prehistory when theropods come into the scene. I mean, sure they're the only dinosaur group with extant members, but really guys?

If anyone is interested, I discussed the reason why theropods are so much better known than other prehistoric predators in another forum. My conclusion was that the animals before the dinosaurs lack really iconic animals (Dimetrodon is well known to the public, but nothing compared to Tyrannosaurus or even Velociraptor). This could be because the dinosaurs were hyped in a time where the public was far more interested in prehistory than today. You can see that when comparing the visitor numbers of JP I and JP III and from the fact that Spinosaurus got far less popular than Tyrannosaurus did ten years after it's JP debut.

My old avatar was a gulphog (if anyone remembers) because I love Extraterrestrial and the gulphog was one of my favorites.
