I just watched the beginning of JP and one thing what I note as positive, is that they described Velociraptor as birdlike (That was before it was shown in the movie, they also said that Raptor is also a description for birds of prey. To one it even looked like a Turkey.). I think JP was among the very first popular movies who did that. When Tyrannosaurus hunted the Gallimimi, one commented the manuver made by the running Gallimimi as similar to that what modern birds do when escaping from birds of prey. I don't think it was JP who misinformed the public, rather some movies and books based on very outdated information. Or dinosaurus appearing in not dinosaur related shows (for example cartoons, where one episode plays in the past or stuff for very small kids).

It was the litterally first movie to depict this, not among the first. This is a matter of history that JP was one of movie to make an intelligent exercice mixture of science and entertainment. Actually, the movie did a lot of for the paleontology in popular culture. A sheer dinomania occured in 93 and a whole generation of paleontologists has been spawned thanks to JP.
I feel a bit sad for the youngers who did not discover JP when it was made.
BTW, it seems that the fourth plot will happen on Isla Nublar...

Jp has had a massive impact on how average people view and think about dinosaurs.

That's interesting. Were's the info from? That's a very likely assumption dating back yesterday by director Colin Trevorrow, who posted in twitter a pic of a landscape of Kauai, signed "Nublar". Many fans hope since a while a return to the first island...

I think that would be a positive developement. I'm curious what would have happened there in the meantime. Tough I'm wondering, if the animals on nublar are still alive, why was the second island even introduced? hopefully they'll find a good explanation.

The Site B was the actual facility breeding the animals.
In the novels, sorry for the spoiler, all the dinos on Nublar were eliminated by Costa Rican authorities.
In a deleted scene of TLW, it was alluded that it was the same for the movies.
But who knows ? At this point we have absolutely no hint.
Trevorrow in fact wants to keep the secret, like at the time. Today, even before the movies are released, we have often plenty information during the filming, all the FX in the teasers. We know the movie before see it....whereas the first trailer of JP showed almost nothing of the dinos.
That's a good thing he dies like this. I just hope the plot will be excellent (likely, they've launched it once they announced having a good story) and really intelligent dinos scene.
I hope too there is the Spielberg atmosphere of the first one.

Not on many tough, as mostly kids are interessted in dinosaurs (or animals in general) and Jurassic Park is mostly watched by adults.

JP is for adults and youngs ! These times, for the release of JP3D, many kids are seen in the audience too, just like 20 years ago.

JP is legally restricted to people >12 years of age, this means the whole age group that is most enthusiastic about dinosaurs (sadly mostly only for a short time) is not allowed to watch it (I first watched it when I was 12 years old, luckily I am among the people in which the dinosaur-phase didn't stop). Are the laws different in France? Were I live, kids are not allowed to enter a cinema-screening of a film not suggested for their age, even tough it is not forbidden to show it to them at home, for which the parents have to assess whether their children are mature enough. I know In Germany the latter is a crime too.
I don't think JP is a particularly cruel or scary movie, and I know many children who could probably watch it (I myself could have watched it much earlier but ironically my parents didn't let me).

I'm surprised as a cinephile. I saw JP in a cinema when I was 7 and TLW at 11. Most boys had no problem watching it. They are classified for all public or at worst with caution for the youngest. But no formal restriction.
Now it's true that in France the laws for audiovisual programs (CSA) are not very restrictive.
But I confirm that many kids are seen in the cinemas watching JP3D (an excellent conversion they report).

I think around of two years ago, one of my sisters got traumatized trough JP. I also know adults who got scared.

I'm sorry to hear that. How old was she?
BAck then, I could imagine people had never seen realistic portrayals of dinosaurs, but today I cannot imagine adults would get scared by watching JP.

I watched it the first time when I was 6 or 7 and my little brother was 2 or 3. Neither him nor me had any advere effect, in fat I lved it. I think it is a pretty harmless movie tbh.

It wasn't really bad (I dramatised that a bit, I simply wanted to say that she can't watch JP anymore). I think she was 10 or so. Let's just say, she doesn't want to watch JP, because of bad memories. You don't have to take "trauma" literally.
