According to the executive director of the zoo it was treated at, the lung was punctured and the diaphragm was opened. Postmortem examination revealed the wounds got infected and spread to the stomach region, and this is what ended up killing the tiger.

Two other interesting (if macabre) things:

1.) For a split second right before the video ends, you can see the tiger's injuries uncensored. You can really see what kind of damage the elephant's tusks caused.

2.) Tiger skin doesn't look to be particularly thick.
