The walrus is over 3 times larger than the lions together, and I have yet to see a good argument for how they can get through the blubber. What is your reasoning? Basically, what theworldofanimals.proboards.com/user/6 said is why I am going with the lions here , he seams to have better reasoning than anyone here for who would win IMO I guess I'll have to wait for elosha to enlighten me then. I remain unconvinced.

elosha11 rockI have been thinking about this a bit, and I am now seeing more chances on land for the lions than before HOWEVER, that is because I think they could exhaust the walrus to death; I have yet to hear how they can get through the blubber and thick hide

In water obviously walrus wins.
On the land. Walrus has huge tusks and can do lots of damage. There have been accounts of large polar bear killing adult male walrus. But those cases are very rare.
Theoretically lions could break through walruses hide. But only after very long struggle. They can tire walrus out eventually killing him as it was mentioned. However if walrus kills one of the lion quickly enough single lion will have very difficult time to finish the job.
Overall on land I'm going it say its about 50/50 but if there is anyone who has slight edge it is the walrus.

^Thanks all! I agree, the best way for the lions to win on land is by exhuasting the walrus. The thick hide and blubber are a major obstacle.
