Was it meant to be a remake? They could have picked that title, because it is in 3D (so it brings you close to the dinosaurs, like WWD did with its for 1999 standards revolutionary graphics).

After watching the most recent movie trailers I went into this movie expecting it to be narrated like it was in something like Spirit of the stallion of Cimarron/black beauty only with higher quality visuals, lower quality voice acting, and dinosaurs. What I got was literally the worst and most pointless opening I have ever seen in a movie, obnoxious characters that consisted of a bird with a MEXICAN accent, three dinosaurs that sounded like growing teens throughout the ENTIRE film who spoke with less passion than your typical youtube actor, and all of them cracking jokes about the modern world as well as fourth wall jokes. The only time the movies attempt at humor actually made me crack a smile was the physical humor that occured between three quetzalcoatlus. Did I also mention that the dialouge didn't fit at all? When I meant it didn't fit with the movie, I really mean it did not fit with the movie. It felt like the voice overs were a poor attempt of parody.
The only thing that didn't have me fuming was the visauls which were spectacular, and the dinosaur sound effects which unfortunately was ruined by shitty music and the worst script I have ever heard from a movie. If you plan on watching this movie either come to the theater with head phones or buy the dvd, skip the opening, and put it on mute.

And no it was not a remake in the slightest.
What was strange is this movie does seem to have been going with a When Dinosaurs Roamed America approach intially, as in one scene they did some sort of Gorgosaurus fact analysis exactly like how it was done in that documentary, except with an unprofessional narrator that made many poor attempts at humor.

I meant an attempt of creating a revised version of the 1999 show, while this is obviously just overhumanised entertainment kid-stuff in the tradition of "march of the dinosaurs" (but apparently far worse). Sad, because the BBC page had made me think it might really be a proper remake or reboot...
The original WWD was a great show, that managed to intrigue me by both its revolutionary graphics and amazing content in conjunction with its way of storytelling. It had obvious weaknesses in terms of accuracy, but it was intended and executed to be a documentary, not one of those Dinosaurophithecus-style films.

.....................................................................................WTF HAVE THEY DONE TO WALKING WITH DINOSAURS!? THEY KILLED ONE OF THE GREATEST DOCUMENTARTIE'S BY ADDING THOSE STUPID VOICE OVER'S!!!!! WTF WERE THEY ON? DID THEY DO IT JUST TO PISS US OFF!? THIS IS NOT WALKING WITH DINOSAURS! IT'S AN ABOMINATION WHERE THEY JUST PASTED THE NAME ON!!!!! IT'S A DISGRACE TO THE DOCUMENTARY!!!!!!! In the words of the Nostalgia Critic. "Rape.....my......CHILDHOOD......."

But we have seen the trailer and there it already looked a bit like "March of the Dinosaurs" (not only because they used similar species).

Yeah, but I didn't expect they'd talk. Perhaps I thought it would end up a bit more humanzied than in WWD, but I attributed most of the difference to the different setting and taxonomic choices.

I went to see the movie, but i have to say that the opening is terrible and the voices throughout the movie pissed me off at how annoying they were. Although, i did like the visual CGI on the dinosaurs, as well as the dinosaur sound effects (but sadly ruined by the stupid ass music).
It wasn't what i expected it to be.

Just saw the trailer....
And it looks like a load of bullshit honestly. Before the trailer, I was expecting a lot more than this. What is with the dinosaurs talking in such an annoying way? In Dinosaur, it was good. But Walking with Dinosaurs didn't deserve this, because it was strictly a documentary for people who were interested in it. And now they made it into a kiddie movie where they slap the name "Walking with Dinosaurs" on to get people to see it. I was so excited at first, because Dinosaurs were my favourite animals when I was younger and used to watch Walking with Dinosaurs when I was younger.

Heard that the blue ray release will give the option to mute the talking dinosaurs, though I haven't found a source stating that.

Another Discord review, guys! No, YOU are reviewing movies seven years too late, not me! New paragraph generally means a new post.

You're talking about the part where they have the "Gorgosaurus" (in quotes because it seems to be a case of wrong identity) schematic and have multiple close-ups on its arms just to poke fun at those? I disliked that part too. Though my gripe was less about their failure at making the tyrannosaur threatening and more at how many times they did it (in the same scene!) and how infantile it turned out to be.
Of course, dinosauria101 being dinosauria101 found it amusing.

Of course, dinosauria101 being dinosauria101 found it amusing.Yeah, that scene. To be fair, these two issues are strongly related. How often was Land Before Time's Sharptooth at the butt of juvenile humor? How often did Dinosaur Revolution victimize its scary predators (at least the ones that were supposed to be scary) for the sake of slapstick. A scary villain can of course be funny (e.g. the Joker), but it shouldn't be at their expense. Otherwise, the feeling is like "Hahaha, that Sharptooth just stumbled over its own teeth, wonder how Littlefoot will escape from that". But yeah, that scene was unbelievably infantile, much like every attempt at humor in that movie. That's why the comedic highlights were the movie's attempts at drama.

I think it was more about how often they returned to that joke within that one scene. You can briefly make a joke at a villain's expense once, and then a while later make that same joke again, and so on, and it wouldn't be as bad (although, you make a good point that such jokes probably shouldn't exist, at least not a whole lot). Here, they made that joke like, three times in one sitting.

True. Let's just agree that there are multiple layers of terribleness within that short scene and analyzing them all could fill up a thread by itself.
