just some pictures and videos of something I found interesting while looking up basking sharks. many here might be aware, but I just found out that basking sharks are able to breaching, sometimes even their entire body length, out of the water surface. seeing a large shark that is usually regarded as rather slow moving actually caught my interest. it is thought as a mean of communication to other sharks, probably even courtship. another possibility is for the removal of parasites.
