There is a similar thread on carnivora, so why not just open one here as well? Is our reality real or is it just a simulation?
Here is an argument for the simulation.
1. If simulated realities are feasible, they outnumber non-simulated realities (as there can only be one). 2. Simulated realities are feasible. 3. Therefore, we more likely than not live in a simulated reality.
(Note: The argument is arguably a non-sequitur, as the number of simulated vs non-simulated intelligent observers is probably a better metric for determining where we most likely live than the amount of simulated vs non-simulated realities)
