I don't see why not, especially if the Ankylosaurus was ambushed.
It's good to see that beautifully preserved nodosaur being named and looked into.

Formidable herbivores usually have carnivores adapted for hunting them, so why not? While there may be individual herbivore species with no natural predators, the idea of this holding true for an entire group of animals is rather weird. The main difference between the more formidable ankylosaurs (i.e. Ankylosaurus) and creatures like Nodosaurus is that the more formidable ones have offensive capabilities in addition to their defensive ones, but these can be avoided as Ausar pointed out.

Not suprising, i doubt indestructable herbviore ever exists, and by saying it have camouflage, seems like borealopelta perfer to hide instead of confront its predators, maybe it lived with large predators?
