It’s said that tasmanian devils hunt wombats but i would like to know how they do it. Although it is likely that tassie devils prey on wombat, as far as i know that was just a speculation because they found wombat meat in devils. Alot of sites say that tasmanian devils prey on wombat because they are easy prey (even though books such as wombats by Barbara Triggs say that a wombat could easily hold it’s own against a single dingo), but i think tassie devils mostly scavenges dead wombats or hunt the weak as other predators do. Well if anyone could give me information about this i would very much appreciate it.

Does anyone have any suggestions? If anyone does that'd be very nice.

Thank you, i just finished reading it. Although it still doesn’t confirm how they hunt but it does clarify that tasmanian devils do eat wombats.

Found something very interesting. This dissertation reports that Tasmanian devils chasing macropods and wallabies is not uncommon. It describes how Tasmanian devils will kill large mammals. They will kill them by maintaining a strong crushing bite somewhere on the anterior half of the body and holding on until the prey succumbs. One devil killed a pademelon this way. Another, critically to this thread, ran up to an adult wombat, bit it on the snout and engaged in a tug of war. Unfortunately, the outcome wasn't witnessed by the observer ( link->). It has been noted that Tasmanian devils are, in fact, capable of killing wombats and even sheep. Wombats might even be favored due to their fat content and relative slowness (devils are not built for speed) ( link->). So we now have the word of biologists who say the devils can do it, and a killing method for how they could do it.
