This question came to me after re watching Jason movies and some Hulk movies. SCP-096 was a huge inspiration as well. Forgive me if this question is silly but I'm curious on how humanity would react to something like this if it actually came to be.
So in this scenario, a psychotic misanthropic man by some unknown means does not take physical damage and is unable to be destroyed. Diseases, toxins, and elements also do not affect him in any way. Neither does depriving him of food, water, sleep and oxygen stop him. This man intends on killing every single human being on the planet due to some delusion that it's his destiny to do so. He goes outside and starts killing people one by one.
The limitations for this man, is that he's limited to average human running speed, agility, and jumping ability, could only output enough physical strength equal to that of a bull elephant, and only chooses to kill using melee weapons and/or with his bare hands. He also enters a state of rage upon seeing other humans and tends to attack without thinking or planning.
What protocols would be taken for someone like this? How would the law react to this man? How would the government react to this? How would the public react to this? What steps could be done against a psychopathic angry man that's indestructible? How long would it take for people to understand that this man cannot be physically damaged?

I think that we'd be most likely to throw him into a deep pit, and we likely wouldn't realize his inability to be damaged until a very long time later.
Oh and happy birthday malick6! It's in the member's cafe

This would be horrifying.
Killing all of humanity would take a lot of time though, enough to come up with a bunker in which to place him and a machine strong enough to pull him there. Or we simply blast him into outer space (though that's gonna be much more difficult). I guess getting him unconscious (whether through damage or a substance) is impossible, too.

Could alive burial work? Like tricking him into a hole too deep for him to escape via jumping or climbing, and then burying it in concrete?

Yeah, this might work. The "tricking" part is perhaps the hardest.
Whatever we could do to stop him, it would be very cruel, but necessary.

I think what I'd do is use some kind of bait (in this case, videotaped people talking), place it in the pit in the middle of night, and then he'd hear it, go to it, and fall in.

If he's apprehended, I wonder if it would be viable to send him off somewhere in outer space? He may not die, but he'll be stranded in a place far away from humanity.

He has the strength of an elephant. I'd say he'd be able to make mincemeat of a rocket.
In a hole however, all the digging in the world will not help him escape, nor will he really be able to climb it.
EDIT: Infinity Blade, you do have a point I suppose. Strong enough and he'd be trapped

So, if possible (which I'm sure it is), make accommodations to the spacecraft he'll be boarding so that it, and the part of the craft he's in, can withstand his strength. He's very strong, sure, but there's a clear limit to it.
