manticora tiger beetle Tiger beetle. Tiger beetles are a large group of beetles, from the Cicindelinae subfamily, known for their aggressive predatory habits and running speed. The fastest known species of tiger beetle, Cicindela hudsoni, can run at a speed of 9 km/h (5.6 mph; 2.5 m/s), or about 125 body lengths per second. Each species of tiger beetle has different-sized mandibles that help it catch and eat different-sized insects. Tiger beetles with small mandibles can only eat really small insects, and tiger beetles with large mandibles can only eat larger insects [crickets , worms , roaches and grasshoppers]. bulldog raspy cricket The length is 65–80 millimetres (2.6–3.1 in). Although its basic form is similar to other Stenopelmatoidea, it is somewhat elongated. Its body color is brown. The female has a rudimentary ovipositor, unlike true Gryllacrididae or Anostostomatidae species. It is similar to the Jerusalem cricket, but it is the only species of Stenopelmatidae that lives in Indonesia. The species is a nocturnal predatory cricket that preys on other insects found in the bottom of the rainforest. Like other Stenopelmatidae species, Sia ferox usually hides in its burrow during the day. At night, it comes out from its burrow and searches for prey like spiders , crickets and grasshoppers[citation needed]. The detailed ecology of S. ferox is not known due to insufficient research. they can weigh six killograms and weigh as much as a small bird.

"Six killogram" beetle? Haha. Anyway, good matchup. While the cricket is huge and aggressive I think tiger beetles are among the most formidable fighters in the arthropod world so I'd favor it.

Yeah, tiger beetles are definitely on the fiercer side, as well as possessing a mean pair of mandibles, so I'd favor the beetle here.

^I actually forgot about the armor (which the cricket lacks, of course), and it would give the beetle even more of an advantage, but it'd still need to be wary. Beetle 7/10
