You aren't gonna see a better footage of these two species together. A really big male hippo with an impressive set of jaws, accompanied by what appears to be his mate, gets into a focus of great interest of a persistent male White Rhinoceros. My view of what was going on here is that Rhino was lonely and curious, and wanted to do something just not quite sure what. The hippo otoh, allowed the company while still trying to keep it under control. He kept his peace perhaps being wary of the risk if the situation escalated into violence. While obviously larger than the Rhino, the horned beast still looked more than capable of hurting him. If I had to guess, I'd give that hippo a 2500kg, and the rhino about 2200kg.

^Damn, that hippo went full berserk mode. Shows fully of what they're capable of. I wonder if it would've been any different if rhino wasn't de-horned.

..actually on second thought, I'm pretty sure it would've been different. Hippos aren't mindless, that one realized the Rhino lacks weaponry and then went all out.

Yeah, probably was smart to have thought it over. I'd give an average black rhino an edge over an average hippo due to that aforementioned horn, and the hippo probably knew it too
