Kara Zor-El is Supergirl's real name (just like how Superman is really called Kal-El) and the Post-Crisis era is, well, an era in DC comics.

No (Spiderman is just called Peter Parker, for example). Supergirl and Superman are actually aliens and their superpowers are the results of alien biology interacting with our yellow Sun, hence the silly names. They use ordinary names for their civilian identities though (Kara Denvers and Clark Kent respectively).

I guess Mothra has the size, strength, and likely experience edge. But Supergirl is faster and unlikely to go down easily.
