If Black Canary has the roar, it could be tricky. If not, she's dead as a doornail.

What are the advantages and disadvantages possessed by each?

If Black Canary has the roar, it could be tricky. If not, she's dead as a doornail. I agree but I don't see why she would not have the canary cry here. That's what makes her Black Canary, no? I guess it depends on who attacks and successfully hits first. As far as I know, neither are in possession of some kind of superhuman durability, so being hit by an optic blast would be devastating for Dinah, and hearing a canary cry would have very nasty effects on Scott. I'm just not sure who that person will be. I used to think that because Cyclops' optic blasts can move at light speed, he'd probably have the advantage in this regard, but I just learned that the servos in his visor are "considerably slower" than light speed (see this scan).

I only say that because the original Black Canary was just a skilled martial artist and had no special powers. Her name was also Dinah Drake. The one that's better known is Dinah Lance and she's the one with the roar.
