thanks for making this thread , anyways i still give this to the lion , it has more weapons [claws and jaws] , is more aggresive and is more robust , it is a more skilled fighter then say a wolf who mostly hunts in packs , but the wolf has a chance here if it can outlast the lion with its stamina and then kill it.

I am a bit undecided ATM if you backed one over the other , i understand , this is very close , reasons to back the wolf is better stamina , reasons to back the lion is , mane protection and better weapons [better bite force and claws] , but this is very close

How?

A lion having a higher bite force than a wolf at parity? How? That chart is measuring the high end weight for lions and the low end weight for wolves, and it's not even using the right units. Let me rephrase that. If they weighed the same, how would a lion have a higher bite force in newtons than a wolf?

If they weighed the same, how would a lion have a higher bite force in newtons than a wolf? if they weighed the same and were the same size? ok if thats what you mean then hypothetically the lion would still have a better bite as it has larger jaws

Seriously, why would a lion have a larger skull or set of jaws than a wolf at parity?
