What do you guys think of it? Could we ever realistically mass produce cultured meat to a scale where it can be consumed worldwide? Any cons with regards to the environment or anything else? Personally, I think if all the promises of in vitro meat actually viably turn up (i.e. food that tastes just like real meat, animals do not need to be slaughtered or harmed for food, possibly even environmentally friendlier), I would staunchly be in support of it. www.sciencefocus.com/future-technology/the-artificial-meat-factory-the-science-of-your-synthetic-supper/

I vote for it, I suppose. What's not to like about the exact same product with no impact on the environment?

Count me among the support group, too.
If mass production becomes available of course depends on public support. It wouldn't be hard to spread FUD (fear, doubt, uncertainty) among the public for anyone who wants to. Just publish some studies (credible or not) which suggest that there might be a link between cancer and in vitro meat (although the same applies to conventional red meat, too) and you can bet that it's gonna get the same treatment as GMOs.
