The rhinoceros will win, as they outnumber the elephant and their horns are better weapons than elephant tusks.

I favor them too - numbers, mass, and superior weapons. As long as 1-2 don't make a mistake and get killed to early, they should win more often than not.

How well do rhino corporate on groups? That is the deciding factor. Not very well, I'd imagine. I mean, I can't think of anything about rhinoceros biology that would necessitate the ability to fight other animals in well-coordinated groups.

How well do rhino corporate on groups? That is the deciding factor. That's probably a bit up in the air - they are CAPABLE of it in theory, but i don't know if we could ever see it (what rhino anyway wants to risk its life and the life of 2 other comrades, even if they win, against an elephant?)

They would need to have the actual cognitive capacity to be even theoretically capable of coordinating in a group. It's debatable if they even have that.

I've been researching that a bit since yesterday, and it seems there are conflicting opinions on the matter.
I don't think they'd THINK to cooperate, but if push came to shove I could see them mob the elephant.
