Giving it to the dhole. The dhole skull looks even more robust than a wolf skull. In addition, its bfq of 132 puts it in the range of the grey wolf while the domestic dog lags behind at 113. So the dhole can do more damage. While dholes hunt in packs, their prey is very impressive and they may or may not have even killed a black bear. Anyway, here are some dhole highlights. Note its speed and how it quickly gets to the deer's neck and kills it www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sf7ZlqJgRdY&t=71sPresumably one dhole killed a much larger deer www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywdAmKLQpXwDhole flips over a much larger sambar deal by itself, highlighting its power www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezkWiLwJ6SU&t=512sAnd the dhole enjoys a cushy size advantage here. So dhole 8/10

The Staffordshire bull terrier might be able to win, since it is still close to the dhole in size and likely has a stronger bite force.

@ophiophagushannah, THAT much? I mean it's understandable to favor the dhole, but isn't 8/10 a bit much, especially against a foe who has all the weaponry it needs to win too?

Wait nevermind, I meant 6/10. But the dhole has a major mobility advantage that the staffy would not have

The mobility is certainly an important factor, yes. However, the staffy seems to have superior durability which may help to mitigate its mobility disadvantages.

Not necessarily, the wolf's durability is very underrated as its tanked successive hits from much larger bison without much fuss. The durability of all hypercarnivorous canids is very underrated here. I would expect the dhole to be even more durable than the wolf relatively speaking because even though we don't have its bone robusiticity data, its closest relative, the african wild dog is already much more robust than the wolf, and visually the dhole looks even more robust than the awd

Interesting! I have heard of a wolf surviving a gore from a bison as you said, as well as a mountain lion bite to the head. Wild canines do indeed have good durability; I may lean to the dhole a bit.
