Wait, does this specific dog breed interact with African wild dogs? I'm not knowledgable on domestic dogs.

Well they do overlap in range (domestic dogs are cosmopolitan) and it's very likely there have been some escapees and/or AWDs that got close to the other.
That said, I was under the impression that domestic dogs being cosmopolitan warranted matches like this being sympatric. Maybe if there's no for sure interactions I can keep them hypothetical.

That domestic dogs are cosmopolitan doesn't mean the Staffordshire bull terrier itself regularly encounters African wild dogs as if it were a part of their natural ecosystem.
The range of domestic dogs as a whole doesn't really warrant something like this being sympatric, because this is a match between one specific breed of domestic dog, not domestic dogs as a whole.

Alright, then. So now in sympatric, just stuff like, say, mountain lion vs 2 dogo argentinos because we know they interact?

I guess.

The terriers have a slightly smaller combined weight than the African wild dogs, but their aggression and strong bites, plus being more numerous, give these terriers a clear advantage.

I favor the terriers too. Significantly more robust, plus the aggression, strong bites, and numbers, as you said, would help. And once they kill enough AWDs, all they need to do is mob the last one.
