Mobbing and Hit-and run doesn't work an animals like the pitbull. The pitbull is designed to turn and round about very quickly (this was necessary for a breed built to fight in pits). It is also incredibly fast. The numbers of foxes would help pad out the slaughter length a bit more. The pitbull, being on the defensive, will exhaust less energy and can finish its foe with one bite to any part of the body sans the tail and ears. The foxes cannot. You know what, you might have a point after all. Maybe I should have used 4-5 foxes instead of just 3. Or not use foxes at all and use a similarly sized predatory canid instead.

4 Coyotes vs APBT would be about equal. 4 on 1? Isn't that a bit much? The pitbull goes after prey as or more dangerous than 4 coyotes. It's going to take 4 (or more) coyotes to effectively fight a pitbull.
