The brown hyenas will displace the cheetahs. Even big male leopards have been displaced by them and cheetahs are way less powerful and aggressive compared to leopards.

Interesting; certainly good food for thought.
Though I do favor the hyenas here, repelling=/=beating in a death fight. Honey badgers are the epitome of this.

Interesting; certainly good food for thought. Though I do favor the hyenas here, repelling=/=beating in a death fight. Honey badgers are the epitome of this. Displacing another similarly sized predator from a carcass is incredibly different than an animal not wasting its time on a defensively oriented small carnivore; while everyone of those carnivores could kill an animal the size of the honey badger, the same cannot be said for the cheetah in this scenario. It's also worth noting that on top of this behavioral advantage at carcass disputes, the brown hyena hold basically every relevant advantage.
Here is more info on interactions, from Hyena Nights & Kalahari Days (Gus and Marge Mills)

Well, you've certainly got a point there.
Would not call this a mismatch but the capabilities of the hyenas aren't to be underestimated, I guess

The cheetahs outweigh the hyenas, but they are weaker due to their adaptations, so the hyenas win.

I am not even sure most cheetah outweigh most brown hyena.

They don't? I thought they averaged ~50-60 kg, compared to 43 kg for brown hyenas.

The hyenas win, the cheetahs may seem bigger and more numerous but they are lighter in strength by comparison to the hyenas.

Then yeah, the hyenas definitely win. I may make this match with more cheetahs relative to hyenas.

There's no point in doing that.

Oh...yeah. We have 2 on 1, and cheetahs don;t get in groups bigger than 3.
