These hyenas can take on the lion easily with their greater numbers, and stronger jaws.

The hyenas are the favorite for me as well. Numbers, strong jaws, greater combined weight, stamina, and durability. They could tire the lioness and cause damage with all those factors.

Brown hyenas are not as powerful nor as sociable as spotted hyenas. Spotted hyenas can easily kill a lioness if they outnumber them at least three to one. The lioness can kill a brown hyena and displace the rest but if the brown hyenas come together that’s probably the end of the lioness. In the natural world, it is unlikely to happen.
