This is clearly ambush behavior akin to that demonstrated in the article by numerous species of crocodile. It doesn't matter "the point you're talking about", which to this point in the conversation has been very vague and muddied, with intermittent shifting of goal posts.
That's rather obvious, but you continue to say "crocs", so as you refer to crocs as a whole, i will refer you to behavior and ability of other species. Wonderful how that works, isn't it?
You are quite handily demonstrating you are not reading what i am saying comprehensively. I said they are capable of fatally injuring an animal without drowning it.

Aucasaurus is a taller carnivore, and barely outweighing the crocodiles allows it to take them both down.
