While a lone wolf was indeed able to kill the muskox, I have SERIOUS doubts as to whether it can happen more often than not. Here, the muskox is fighting full force, and in a forum style fight I think its size and strength are enough to win about 60/40.

The muskox is much heavier than both wolves, it's clear the muskox will win with its horns.
