The Columbian mammoth is too big. The purussaurus has very powerful jaws and could bite the mammoth’s trunk. However, the superior bulk and strength of the mammoth might enable it to drag the croc out of water.

I think this is around 50/50 on land; the mammoth does have a decent size advantage, but its tusks aren't the best for combat and Purussaurus has a very deadly bite. I'd vote for Purussaurus overall however, because it'd be the favorite in shallow and deep water and thus the overall favorite.

Purussaurus may have a powerful bite and better water adaptations, but the mammoth is much larger than it and can still hold its own with its tusks. The mammoth will win here.
