That sounds plausible, I suppose.

Could work, if that Megantereon was isolated from the lions, it could very well prove to be a hidden tiger of Africa.

To me this specific question is all but impossible to answer. We know very little about cryptids themselves what forms they might evolve to in future is harder still. According to future is wild, crane will evolve into a bird that will be protected from ultraviolet radiation fly above 120000 m above seal level. and have additional pair of wings on its legs. spiders will become larger and will catch seeds rather than birds. Squids will live on land etc. I guess the giant squids will simply evolve into larger than usual mega squids( mega squids being squids that live on land) But the squid to mega squid change is the only one that I can even begin to talk about. Mngwa in my opinion will either stay the same or it will evolve into slightly lighter and faster animal with larger brain. same is probably true in case of most cryptids and animals in general this of course will not always be the case but often. Ciagu will probably change into more modern cat. This is a very good question but in most cases very difficult to answer. if you would ask what will happen to giant snakes lizards and crocodiles I would say that they will become smaller but more agile and smarter or not change at all. If one was to ask what will happen to for example Tasmanian creature I, zoologist, cryptozoologist or pretty anyone on the planet will not be able to answer this question. For the most part because they don't have any idea what it is or even how to classify it at current time. And trying to decipher to what it will evolve to in the future would take in depth study of genetics and we don't have a single sample that survived. And even if we did what is the genetic future of animal even with basic idea of what environment will be like in the future is a difficult task to do accurately. With something that we can't even classify like creature from Tasmania knowing only that it is probably an invertebrate because it has no bones of any kind but does not belong to any type of invertebrate know to science not even close even if we had opportunity to genetically test it (which we don't) we would vastly expand our almost not existing knowledge about this creature. But we would most certainly not be able to say what it will become in the future. In case of animals such as mngwa or Nandi bear it would make sense that mngwa might for example develop ears that can move independently from one another like those of caracal. And over long period of time it might become faster or have more stamina for example do to larger heart and lung surface area. And smarter. For example because of having larger brain. And although I don't think it brain would become much denser than it already is. I can imagine it would have larger amount of astrocytes and/or they would be larger and more complex. As far as more unusual cryptids I think as good as this question is it I can't imagine any human being able to answer it correctly at less we conduct much more study or have noting short of divine foresight.
