The Monolophosaurus is much larger than the entire clan of hyenas combined, and with its scales and claws, it can still win against them despite not having crushing jaws.

Mono would win for me as well. Larger, better stamina, and good weaponry to take the hyenas out. Not to mention they are less agile due to their build. I can see the dinosaur taking them, one by one.

And even if the hyenas possess a bone-crushing bite aided by their shorter faces, it's not gonna help them against a larger reptile.

^Yes, the issue with a crushing bite here is that it may take a while to implement and they have to open their mouths all the way. This means Monolophosaurus would have an easier time landing attacks than vice versa.

Hyenas would probably win since they are very large, and since your including 6 dinosaur would lose.

Is there any other reason you have for favoring the hyenas here? The Monolophosaurus is still about 7 times larger than an individual hyena (meaning it would be able to kill one quite fast or at least disable it), and due to its advanced respiratory system as well as the relatively stocky build of the hyenas (meaning they are more slow and unagile than modern spotted hyena), I feel Monolophosaurus would be able to avoid attacks without tiring at least somewhat efficiently. Not to mention their bite power is at the very back of their mouth, so it would take a while to land good bites.

Not to mention their bite power is at the very back of their mouth, so it would take a while to land good bites. the whole "biting power at the back of the mouth=slow biter" thing really needs to die. It gets people killed by snakes every year. The Hyena would simply latch on and then move itself forward with its jaws. Simple as that

It does have to latch on and move forward which takes more time than just biting. Also, snakes and hyenas are not comparable here; the teeth on hyenas that are for biting hard are at the back to produce the most force while snake's fangs are at the very front. I can understand favoring the hyenas here, however. This is a close match.

Only on larger body parts would it have to latch on, and even then this would happen very quickly.

The legs are POSSIBLE, but dangerous, since it could get kicked/trampled.
The torso would be quite hard to land good bites on due to height/width.

The lion-sized hyenas could try, but Monolophosaurus probably wouldn't be like what they're used to, those legs are much stronger.
