I watched this movie with my wife on Friday. The plot could shine with Rated R THRILLER treatment but the director went out of his way to make it PG-13 compliant which killed its charm and development. The tension and drama is unnecessarily toned down. Carnage of gigantic insects which trapped two children is skipped. More could be shown on this front.
Giganotosaurus does not gets much screen time, and the good guys have plot armor anyways. There was a situation in which sacrifice of a main character could be considered to allow others to escape but... The ending is wishful thinking. I was expecting better from Colin Trevorrow but he missed the mark on this one. Colin's short story (Battle at Big Rock) was underwhelming: It had a fairly decent buildup but its ending was botched. In view of this short story, I felt that Colin might botch the main movie, and he did it unfortunately. The movie does have its share of impressive action sequences, and dino depictions. Therizinosaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, Dimetrodon, and a big Raptor with feathers, are visually well done and depicted. Credit where due. This is how I rate Jurassic World movies: Jurassic World = 7 / 10 Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom = 5 / 10 Jurassic World Dominion = 4 / 10

You may refer to the child firing darts at the allosaur face. For some reason the plot armor for kids in the JP/JW franchise have always made them something of badasses, equaling to SAS or Navy Seals in survival prowess, in JP3 Eric Kirby survived on Isla Sorna for 2 months while two mercenaries out of three were dispatched in their 10 first minutes on the island.
