Thoughts on edestus? How does it compare to modern sharks? I guess it fulfills the requirement of "your weapon sir, it will kill", but at the same time I don't think it's anything special compared to modern macropredatory sharks. A great white can kill a similar sized animal too, except it can also rip out a massive chunk of flesh while doing so. |

Their teeth are super novel so I was hoping they would be above average. |

I suppose since the force is concentrated onto just one row of teeth as opposed to a left and right side, there might be some more pressure exerted, allowing for a deeper cut? But other than that, I'd be willing to give Edestus vs great white at body mass parity a 50/50 more or less. |
