This thread was inspired by one of my favorite stories called "All Tomorrows."
To continue, humanity is often speculated to eventually reach levels of technology and medicine that is indistinguishable to magic. From levels of civilizations (Kardashev scale) to humanity evolving into "Godlike" levels.
There are many arguments for why humanity should be allowed to keep advancing to such levels. One of which is to help eliminate human suffering, and for the collective survival of our species.
Other arguments are those against this due to fears of human extinction, or a drastic cataphoric change in our species to the point of no return.
Be that as it may, what are your thoughts on humanity's innovation? What limits should be in place if at all? Discuss.

I don't think there should be limits to human innovation per se. Innovation is a good thing and helps us to shape the universe the way we want it to be. It gives us agency in a universe that, in my opinion, ultimately doesn't care for us.
However, the main thing that bothers me is who is driving this type of innovation. I don't believe in conspiracy theories like 5G, vaccines being evil, microchips being the start of the apocalypse, or anything like that. But you can't deny that transhumanist innovation is heavily pushed by Silicon Valley techbros who don't care for the environment or for poorer people. These types already have worryingly high amounts of power in our world and I'd hate to see it increase. Because let's be honest, if there were a way to become immortal gods through technology, guys like Musk and Bezos would be the first to benefit. And I don't think they'd handle this power responsibly.

And I don't think they'd handle this power responsibly. Sadly there are members in our species that will want to use the fruits of geniuses labor for themselves. It's been that way since human history. Especially if one has enough resources. What personally worries people is if people with heavily flawed worldviews had access to such technology. As much as I admire and thank people who brought us to where we are now, I'd be the first to object to "Godlike" levels of technology if lets say rich and powerful and RACIST groups managed to gain access to it. In the United States, we already have a problem with unstable people gaining too much access to guns and going on mass shootings. In a nutshell, let us hope that great power doesn't fall in the wrong hands...
