“Novel North American Hominins, Next Generation Sequencing of Three Whole Genomes and Associated Studies.”Authors: Ketchum MS, Wojtkiewicz PW, Watts AB, Spence DW, Holzenburg AK, Toler DG, Prychitko TM, Zhang F, Bollinger S, Shoulders R, Smith R. DeNovo. 13 February 2013. Abstract (short) One hundred eleven samples of blood, tissue, hair, and other types of specimens were studied, characterized and hypothesized to be obtained from elusive hominins in North America commonly referred to as Sasquatch. DNA was extracted and purified from a subset of these samples that survived rigorous screening for wildlife species identification. Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequencing, specific genetic loci sequencing, forensic short tandem repeat (STR) testing, whole genome single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) bead array analysis, and next generation whole genome sequencing were conducted on purported Sasquatch DNA samples gathered from various locations in North America. Additionally, histopathologic and electron microscopic examination were performed on a large tissue sample. vel non-human DNA. Interesting although very long document (41 pages). Just a question, if this is an "official" document, how is that there is not an avalanch of news and media promoting this exceptional discovery?

It was published in a journal yes, but it was a journal bought and renamed by the authors with the sole purpose of publishing this paper since it kept failing peer-review in other venues, the "peer review" of this paper came from the authors themselves and the only volume and issue that this journal has published contains this sole paper, that's why I wrote journal with quotation marks next to the link. Still I wanted to post the news partially without my opinion because not only I didn't have access to the paper, I have no deep knowledge of genetics in order to judge it, that's why I posted links to reactions of people that do haha.

If there is a species of large primate living the north woods of the USA and Canada, then it's DNA should be found in grizzly droppings.

i think it's worth noting that the woman who wass the co- author of this paper frequently has bigfoot talk to her telepathically an has "recorded them on multiple instances"but will not release the videos to any bigfoot researcher.
wouldn't put a whole lot of faith into her study, but that's just my $0.02
