Superman is pure of heart, so he can lift Thor's hammer. IIRC it is a matter of worthiness, not purity. Well, I would have to say Superman is about the most worthy guy you can find.  At least as worthy/virtuous as Thor. |

^that was silver age superman, the feat doesnt apply anymore, he still wins though.
As for the hammer thing, if Captain murica can lift the hammer I don't doubt superman that could.

Depends on the version of Thor. Rune King Thor would murderstomp Superman. That Thor is at skyfather level and stronger than Odin and Zeus and even defeated Galactus. 616 Thor in my opinion has the arsenal to defeat Superman, but not the speed. Thor's hammer should be able to hurt Superman because its magic, and Thor has an attack called the God blast meant for beings as mighty as the Celestials.
I wish there was a 50/50 option. I can see it going either way.
