While gorillas are undisputedly powerful and dangerous to attack, they suffer a shared vulnerability with us, a tendency to bleed profusely from cutting wounds. Therefore, they can be at risk of evisceration or bleeding out from the leopards claw and biting attacks. There was significant discussion about this on carnivora.

It's not as painful as most think though. If youre cut for the most part its a bit of burning followed by numbness in the area.

It's not as painful as most think though. If youre cut for the most part its a bit of burning followed by numbness in the area. If you are cut repeatedly in an already wounded area, the burning can become unbearable or even traumatizing.

I've been cut up before on the forearm from a dog that attacked me (which is why I have a tattoo to cover the scars) and if I recall I barely felt anything. Same thing with people who have been bitten by sharks. They never report pain.
