I used to be a Giganotosaurus fanboy instead. Here's what I wrote 8 years ago: ...traslated from italian, of course (I was 10 by that time, and I posted it in an italian forum). This is nothing to be ashamed of, I even believed in the 16 m crap when I was 14! allosaurusatroxFair enough, but the differences to an average AVA forum are not that terribly great. Yes, but I was a fanboy. I got angry when Giganotosaurus size was listed at 14 m in the books, for example. And before than being a Giganotosaurus fanboy, I was a Gallimimus fanboy. I thought it was the fastest dinosaur, and I was angry when I saw for the first time the scene where T.rex killed a Gallimimus in Jurassic Park.

Right…I was a huge fanboy of various animals when I was younger, although if of some more than others, it wasn’t as marked as to be considered hating. Anyway, that 16m Giganotosaurus was actually my invention, more or less.
I’d rather not quote myself from back then. Luckily I’ve had phases of deleting/altering or correcting the most embarassing stuff…

Just a quick peek would show its not build for speed.

I personally don't raise any species to god like status, as it is our place to study and understand animals, not plop them on a pedestal and worship them.
Such thinking is what makes any serious study of megs nearly impossible, for example:
Me: "I'm currently studing C. megalodon, for a research paper."
Person: "ya I've heard of the Meg, its super huge and has a more powerful bite than any animal! It will alive, you know, out there eating fishing boats. Didn't it evolve derectly into the great white?"
Me: "..."

^I did that too. In fact, I think I may still do it, albeit to a substantially less common extent.

It seems that either having too much confidence into one’s own opinion, or a too uncritical look on those of others is usually what leads to deluded impressions (unless of course one is infallible, or only surrounded by infallible people respectively).

I used to consinder Giganotosaurus as most overrated animal ever. But the reason is in my previous post. At least i didn't underestimate size (5-8 tons and 12.2-13.5 m), maybe excluding lower mass estimate, but i took this estimate (5 tons) from TD. I still remember when i was young kid (7-10). I thought Deinonychus was as tall as adult human.

A Bible thumper in the comments, nice. Reminds me of how people under Alltime10s' videos start religious debates, even if they have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the video. For example some people simply write "God doesn't exist" only to start a flame war and to attract Bible thumpers. It is really sad that such a good channel has such a community…
P.S. I feel really sorry for EnigmaHood.

Me Te is now on Carnivora! On "Who [ Carcharodontosaurus or Giganotosaurus] was the biggest?" The biggest one is Carch, even by a greeeeeeeeaaaaaaaat margin (15 m and 20 t vs 11 m and 4 t). You again! 11.8(Acro's lenght)/1.3(Acro's skull)*1.6=14,5 m As you can see, Carch's is substantially bigger than Giganotosaurus, wich is: 12.4:1.54=x:1.42=11.4 So Carch=14.5 m or more Gig=11.4 m or less Spino's almost as long, but lighter because it's a gracile and weak, four-legged fish eater. Mapu's largest specimens are all between 11.5 and 12.2 m. Tyrannotitan maxed at 11 m or even less. Largest T.rex is 12.8 m long, so larger than the others, but much smaller than Carch. 1. Femur/skull ratio's closer to Acrocanthosaurus' 2. Well, he never stated that 142 cm isn't measured up to quadrate, you're making up facts to make your loved Giga bigger. Carch's skull was stated to be 1.6 m long several times. So Carch's skull is big deal longer. 3. We don't. For example, Gig's femur has a lot of reported figure, ranging from 1.3 m (most likely) to 1.43 m (bloated and fanboy-ish). Largest T.rex is MOR008, wich wasn't 13 m + as some fanboys reported but longer than Sue at 12.8 m. I was aware that Sue was 12.3 m. Spinosaurus was 7 t according to Ibrahim et. al, not your made up 8 t. Mapusaurus wasn't 13 m, those are fragments, most complete specimens point out a lenght of 12 m or slighty more. That girl has grossly misunderstood a number of things I and gigadino have written… I guess now I’m gonna have to take the golves off.

Looks like carnivora is becoming interesting for me again! Before you ask, I'm going to fight fire with fire.

I enjoyed very much reading Me Te's statements.
Now even Stromer is a Carcharodontosaurus hater.
