Have any interesting animals where you live? Go out and snap a picture, and post them here. All animal pics are welcome: Pets, Wildlife, Zoos, ect. A bull Bison taken in Yellowstone. A mated pair of Canada geese on the pond behind my house. A big Praying mantis in my front yard!

From June of this year, still very thankful to have been a part of this "something very, very cool happened today. I saw this young hawk on my way home from work and went back to see if it was in the same spot after i got home, it was. clearly a young bird, probably on its first(or one of) attempts to fly solo from mama hawk. it ended up on BLM land on some tall plant i haven't the slightest idea what, but anyway i'm straying. Myself and another man caught the young bird with a net and an old shirt to help calm it down once we grabbed it. We took it to another mans house where its nest mate had also been caught and put into a large kennel. the owners of the house said this is common place for the young birds, as the tree they come from is on their property. they'll be opening up the kennel and letting the little birds climb up the tree later today, hopefully to mama hawk and their nest. i'll stop by there tomorrow when i get off to see if i can see them....here are two photos of the many i took! I had the pleasure of holding the bird when it was covered with the old shirt, and i must say even the young ones are quite strong. not to mention the talons are huge! I'm very thankful to have participated in this.
