I'm not defending him because he's "racist", but because I was sick of people treating him badly simply because of his views. All of this is moot, however, as we are all the same species, only the semantically minded would divide us into "races". It doesn't matter, you clearly don't see why he's wrong and you defend him from the thing he caused. That is also a lame reason, racism still exists. Racial groups exist, no matter what you say. Race isn't the exact term to refer to it, but using one's ethnicity as an excuse for unrelated stuff is racism and it is wrong. Get that through your skull, will you. |

allosaurusatrox: So just for the record, following this logic, if someone gets shot without provocation, because of their skin color, you are totally OK with that because you personally don’t "believe" in the existance of races and thus think there’s no racism? And I guess you’d do the same thing you’ve been doing here, attack other people for criticising the shooter and then dramatize about how you are being treaded sooo unfairly because of it? That is where your argumentation leads; there are no races, ergo everything said or done for reasons a sane person would call racism is perfectly allright and may not be challenged in any way. I don’t want to be impolite, but that is easily among the most ridiculous things I’ve read anywhere, ever.

Humans, in general, have a tendency to overestimate ourselves in any situation, in both physical combat and intelligence. Very true. Even I, as someone who tries to rate himself conservatively and not arrogantly in public, view myself secretly as "above average". P.S. Thanks for rescuing this thread. |

We may sometimes overestimate ourselves, but I think if anything, we UNDERESTIMATE ourselves. Now that doesn't mean we stand a chance against a tiger or anything, but some people think that a grown man will panic and flail helplessly allowing a 50 lb animal to kill him.
I also wonder that how do you posters really know what most people will do in a crisis? It's nothing more than speculation.
