How fast does this venom work? Would it work before the frog gets constricted? the venom would kill the snake once the snake touches the frog Then that's a mismatch. I'll go put it in the mismatch thread. And thanks again for using this thread!

Not sure where else to put this, but I think I ought to let everyone know: I fixed all the Spinosaurus maroccanus matchups

Anyone know the true size for Megalania/Varanus priscus? I don't know if I should use Utahraptor or Megaraptor to match with it due to the great variations in size

Is Elasmotherium vs Acrocanthosaurus fair enough to bring back here? Or should I make something else instead?

To be honest, I think we've all had enough with Elasmotherium vs. larger dinosaur (mostly theropod) threads. They've been a thing on Carnivora and WoA for years now, and making another one on here may just reinforce the perception that it's a good matchup when, in fact, it isn't. Especially considering the size difference between Elasmotherium and whatever giant macropredatory theropod it's usually pitted against (in this case Acrocanthosaurus). Anyone who unironically favors Elasmotherium against a macropredator that's at least more than a third heavier than itself cannot be taken seriously.
Unless, of course, one can justify heavier masses for Elasmotherium.

Then I'll make southern elephant seal vs hippopotamus instead. But is Acrocanthosaurus really that much bigger? I thought it was 4-5 tons vs 6-7 tons

4-5 tons (Zhegallo, 2005) translates to ~3.6 to 4.5 tonnes. The best estimate for Acrocanthosaurus is 6,177 kilograms ( Bates et al., 2009).

Which rhinoceros would be a better matchup for Purussaurus: Paraceratherium or Elasmotherium?

Might Basilosaurus vs Pliosaurus funkei/macromerus be a good matchup for tomorrow?

OK, from what I've gathered, both P. macromerus and Basilosaurus grew up to 20 t. That should work.

For when I get back from my vacation, is Sauroniops vs Torosaurus a good matchup?

dinosauria101: I see nothing obviously wrong with it, but Sauroniops is known only from a single frontal. We know it’s a basal carcharodontosaur, and we know, roughly, how large it is, but that’s about it, everything else is just inferred from related animals. You might want to consider using an animal that actually has some of its relevant morphological features preserved if you want to have an actual discussion, because right now, Sauroniops is pretty much interchangeable with any similar-sized carcharodontosaur.

Yeah, you may have a point. I will take something a bit better known

What does everyone think of Therizinosaurus vs Spinosaurus?
